CELTIC HAVE HEART

Cesc Fabregas has said that Celtic still has chance of making it to the final 16 in the Champions League.

Barcelona defeated Celtic by 1-0 a couple of days back to secure their second consecutive win in the Champions League this season and the man who was the hero for La Blaugrana in that game was Fabregas. He scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute and made sure that Barcelona would remain at the top of the Group H points table.

Barca had begun its Champions League campaign by beating Ajax Amsterdam by a profound margin of 4-0 at home. Fabregas had played well in that game too.

Talking to the reporters after the game against Celtic, the 26 years old Spaniard said, “Playing against Ajax at home and playing here against Celtic is completely different. Celtic is a very strong team at home. Their supporters get behind them and it’s not easy for the opposing team to secure 3 points here.”

When asked if he thinks Celtic can get better of Ajax in the next couple of matches, Fabregas said, “Look, Celtic is capable of defeating any team in the world especially when they are playing in front of their home crowd. The support that they get here in Glasgow helps them immensely. They can still reach the next round.”

When asked about Barcelona being at the top of the Group H points table, Fabregas said, “Yes, we are at no. 1, but, this is not the time to get relaxed. Some important games are still to be played. However, to come here and defeat Celtic in front of their fans, it’s something which is going to give us a lot of confidence.”

Barcelona’s next game is a La Liga encounter against Real Valladolid. That game will be played on Saturday.
