Vincenzo Montella Rules out Cesc Fabregas for AC Milan

AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has ruled out of the possibility of signing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas since he may not be a great fit for the Italian outfit.

Transfer rumours surrounding the Spaniard have been going around for quite a number of weeks, as it has become clear that he does not figure in the plans of manager Antonio Conte. Fabregas has not been part of the Chelsea starting line-up since the Italian manager took over in the summer. It is a drastic fall in the status of the World Cup winner, although Conte says that he ishappy with the player’s professionalism.

The recent for Montella a rejecting Fabregas for AC Milan is that he believes the Spaniard may not be capable of playing in a midfield two. He says that Milan are currently on the lookout for a player similar toMontolivo. Fabregas has managed just four league appearances for Chelsea this campaign. He remains under contract with the blues until the summer of 2019.

However, it is widely believed that he will leave the club in January or in the summer if his situation does not improve. Conte has been hindered by the lack of European games, which would have provided an opportunity for Fabregas to feature now and then.

"We are looking for a player who has the characteristics of Montolivo, who can also play in a midfield two.Fabregas? He doesn't have those particular attributes," said Montella. Pundits have been reckoning that Fabregas would be a great fit in the Italian Serie A where midfielder is getting a lot of time on the ball. Under such situations, Fabregas excels with his impressive passing skills and vision. In his first campaign at Chelsea, Fabregas came close to breaking the Thierry Henry record of the most number of assists in a Premier league campaign – 20.
