FABREGAS HAILS ‘BIG GAME PLAYER’ KANTE

Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregashailed the performance of N'GoloKante during the Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid in midweek.Cesc Fabregas hailed the performance of the French World Cup winner via a tweet from his official Twitter handle as he called him a big game player.

Kante produced a man-of-the-match display to help the Blues pick up a valuable away goal in the 1-1 draw at Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid when the two teams met in the first leg of their semi-final tie in Europe's premier club competition.

Chelsea were the dominant force for the majority of the first half thanks to the direct running of the aforementioned Kante in midfield. The Blues could have secured a big win at the expense of Real Madrid if they were more clinical with the chances that came their way in the first half.

Timo Werner has been heavily criticised for his lack of goals at Chelsea this season and he had a glorious opportunity to give Chelsea the lead during that game. His clear-cut opportunity came inside the first ten minutes of the game. His blushes were spared a little when American player Christian Pulisic gave Chelsea the lead on 15 minutes to become the first United States player to achieve the feat of finding the back of the net in a Champions League semi-final.

Real Madrid fought back with the equaliser from French international Karim Benzema on 29 minutes. His goal helped Real Madrid to gain confidence and recover from a bad start against the Blues. The two teams were forced to settle for the score draw in the end with the second leg billed for Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.Kante would definitely be needed again for that second leg next week. A goalless draw will see Chelsea through to the final.

Cesc Fabregas knows a lot about Kante having played with him at Chelsea for almost three years.
