FABREGAS REAFFIRMS FOOTBALL AS BEST SPORT

AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas is more than certain that football is still the best sport after the Real Madrid comeback against Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the Champions League earlier this month. Cesc Fabregas could hardly believe what had just happened at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu in Madrid as Real Madrid fought back from two goals in their last 16 tie against PSG to score three goals in 17 second half minutes to secure their place in the quarterfinals via a 3-2 aggregate win.

Cesc Fabregas shared his thoughts about football as the best sport on his official Twitter handle.
The Real Madrid vs. PSG tie is definitely the tie of the last 16 stage in the Champions League this season especially after what was witnessed in Madrid. PSG were at home in the first leg and they were able to establish a 1-0 lead at the end of the game thanks to the stoppage time goal from French World Cup winner KylianMbappe.

The former AS Monaco attacker latched onto the backheel flick from substitute Neymar before leaving Real Madrid substitute Lucas Vazquez and Eder Militao in their wake on the way to perfectly beating the impressive Thibaut Courtois for the game's only goal. Courtois had earlier saved a penalty from Lionel Messi in the second half.
In the second leg in Madrid, PSG were in a very comfortable position especially after Mbappe scored against Real Madrid again just before the end of the first half. PSG were in a good place until Italian goalkeeper GianlugiDonnaruma took too long on the ball and allowed Karim Benzema to close him down. Thereafter the ball fell to Vinicius Junior who rolled the ball for Frenchman Benzema to tap into almost empty net just past the hour mark. The goal sparked Benzema and Real Madrid into life. Benzema would later score two more goals to win the second leg for Real Madrid and the tie in general.
